Osmocote Exact Protect

Osmocote Exact Protect is a controlled-release fertilizer featuring Double Coating Technology (DCT). It is designed to delay nutrient release during the winter months, ensuring low EC, or salt levels, in the growing medium for up to the first three months. This helps protect sensitive plants and promotes healthy growth when the growing season begins.

Osmocote Exact Protect is ideal for container nursery stock crops with autumn/winter pottings or salt-sensitive crops. The Double Coating Technology (DCT) slows down the release of nutrients until the roots have fully developed and the plant is established. It is particularly effective for autumn and winter pottings, making it suitable for use from mid-October to mid-January. The DCT ensuring nutrients will release once the growing season starts. When used in full rates it can remove the need for re-fertilization in spring.

Each Osmocote Exact Protect granule contains a balanced mix of nutrients, including nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), magnesium (MgO), and trace elements (TE). This comprehensive nutrient package ensures that plants receive all the essential nutrients they need for healthy growth.

Osmocote Exact Protect granules can be mixed into the potting substrate or dibbled into the plant hole. The recommended application rate varies based on pot size and specific crop needs. For example, for a 3-liter pot, apply 5 grams per liter of Osmocote Exact Protect for a crop with high nutrient requirements. Adjust the application rate based on specific growing conditions and crop needs.

Osmocote Exact Protect is available in different longevities to match various growing cycles: 5-6 months, 8-9 months, and 12-14 months. The longevity is determined by the average soil temperature, with higher temperatures shortening the release period.
